Suzuki XL7 CANADA
This vehicle although its brand was SUZUKI, but the technology was from General Motors as its production from Canada.
At this moment, I want to share troubleshooting in the electrical area. The symptom was the fuel gauge in the instrument panel cluster always show empty condition, although there was petrol in the fuel tank for half.
Following is step by step troubleshooting to pinpoint the root cause:
1. Remove fuel gauge sensor assembly, right and left.
2. By using the fuse-equipped wire, connect the connector from low voltage reference circuit and fuel gauge sensor circuit, the result is the fuel sender gauge circuit was OK, it was show Full, more than 98% in the Data List..
3. Check the fuel pump connector, it was lost connection on it.
The Suzuki XL7 uses the Class 2 serial data and CAN to activate the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster. The logic flows is fuel gauge sensor - ECM - CAN - BCM - Class 2 serial data - IPC - fuel gauge.
